At the Library

Zaheeda had a class tonight so I took the girls to the library. While Maya was off looking at books I sat with Annah in the kids section and she was showing me this board with movable "letters." I pointed out to her that those were numbers and not letters, but hey - that's why we go to the library to get these kinds of things straitened out.

Bike Ride by the river

Headed out on the bike with The Pudy this afternoon to mail some books at the post office in Lillydale. When we started out it wasn't too hot so we decided to take the scenic route along the river so Annah could throw some rocks. She had a good time and we even stopped and picked a flower for her to give Zaheeda when we got home. Well, the day started getting hotter and hotter until eventually we were both miserable. After miles and miles of sun baked pedaling we made it to the Post Office which was closed... By the time we got home the flower we'd picked had been destroyed and we were both exhausted - in retrospect, not the most successful of bike rides.

Stroller

I asked Annah to smile for this picture but she just wouldn't do it. You know I let her sleep in our bed. I'm constantly changing her diapers, cleaning up her puke, and brushing her teeth - do you think it's too much to ask that she smile for simple picture?

Library

Annah tends to get a little over stimulated at the library and never wants to leave, but Maya let her do the self checkout of the books and now that is her new thing. When we want to go we say, "C'mon Annah let's go check these books out." and she jumps right to it. Were we to only tell her it was time to go we'd have a big fuss on our hands.

For some reason she doesn't like to go in the water much anymore, instead she likes to sit on the side and watch Maya.

We went to the library this afternoon and Maya got two free books that she earned by reading so many hours over the summer. She got one for herself and a book on princesses for Annah. What a good sister.

Anyone who knows Annah knows that her boob grabs are fierce and unrelenting.

The Juke

This is Annah, descendant of the Juke family from Appalachia. Interests include playing the wine jug, whittling and hunting possum.

As the heat continues The Pudy tries to stay cool with a nice cool bottle of milk.

The face

I don't know but it seems Annah lacks a certain deference or humility one would expect in a two year old. Based on this recent study out of the University California Riverside it suggests we only have about four or five more years to expect any kind of meaningful personality change before its ingrained for the rest of her life. Oy.....

Walk to the library

It has been quite awhile since The Pudy and I have been out with the stroller, but since the weather was agreeable today we decided to set out to the library.



Once at the library Annah headed right over to the kids section to start doing activities. Before leaving she saw an Elmo movie on the shelf, grabbed it and refused to let go. She's quite adamant when it comes to her likes and dislikes, and she wanted this movie
