Another bike ride

We went for another bike ride yesterday and the weather was much more agreeable. Annah was insistent that we stop and play by the water again and I find it's much better to stop and let her play than to ride and ride with a cranky passenger.

At the Library

Zaheeda had a class tonight so I took the girls to the library. While Maya was off looking at books I sat with Annah in the kids section and she was showing me this board with movable "letters." I pointed out to her that those were numbers and not letters, but hey - that's why we go to the library to get these kinds of things straitened out.

Bike Ride by the river

Headed out on the bike with The Pudy this afternoon to mail some books at the post office in Lillydale. When we started out it wasn't too hot so we decided to take the scenic route along the river so Annah could throw some rocks. She had a good time and we even stopped and picked a flower for her to give Zaheeda when we got home. Well, the day started getting hotter and hotter until eventually we were both miserable. After miles and miles of sun baked pedaling we made it to the Post Office which was closed... By the time we got home the flower we'd picked had been destroyed and we were both exhausted - in retrospect, not the most successful of bike rides.

Stroller

I asked Annah to smile for this picture but she just wouldn't do it. You know I let her sleep in our bed. I'm constantly changing her diapers, cleaning up her puke, and brushing her teeth - do you think it's too much to ask that she smile for simple picture?

Library

Annah tends to get a little over stimulated at the library and never wants to leave, but Maya let her do the self checkout of the books and now that is her new thing. When we want to go we say, "C'mon Annah let's go check these books out." and she jumps right to it. Were we to only tell her it was time to go we'd have a big fuss on our hands.

For some reason she doesn't like to go in the water much anymore, instead she likes to sit on the side and watch Maya.

Book from Maya

We went to the library this afternoon and Maya got two free books that she earned by reading so many hours over the summer. She got one for herself and a book on princesses for Annah. What a good sister.
